The role

We are looking for a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our dynamic Finance team on a part-time basis as soon as possible This role will support our Senior Payroll Officer deliver seamless payroll and staff benefit services to a workforce of up to 500 employees.

Reporting directly to the Senior Payroll Officer and working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll play a vital role in maintaining employee records, processing payroll transactions, responding to staff queries, while supporting continuous improvement across payroll systems and processes. This is a collaborative role requiring attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

The successful candidate will be required to work 7.5 hours per week, ideally across two days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays – however we're flexible with the schedule for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Senior Payroll Officer to process payroll transactions and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Ensuring compliance with awards, agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Responding to staff queries with professionalism and care.
  • Supporting payroll-related projects and system enhancements.
  • Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to deliver high-quality service.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar payroll role.
  • A qualification in payroll or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and agreements.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, customer service and team collaboration.
  • Hold current Working with Children Check.
  • Hold a current police clearance, dated within the last 6 months.
  • Proof of Right to Work in Australia.
  • Respect the values, traditions and Anglican ethos of the School.
