About the role:

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. As a support worker, you will assist individuals with daily living tasks, community participation, personal care, and more. You will play a critical role in supporting our participants live a more independent and fulfilled life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend trainings such for positive behaviour support and implement behaviour support plans
  • Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assist with meal preparation and medication administration
  • Support participants with community access, social activities, and recreational programs
  • Encourage and assist participants in achieving their goals and building life skills
  • Document progress notes, incident reports, and maintain accurate records of care provided (i.e. medication charts, sleep charts)
  • Work collaboratively with family members, coworkers, and other professionals involved in the participant's care

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with psycho-social disabilities, with a demonstrated understanding of person-centred support
  • Experience working with participants with behaviours of concern and an understanding of incident reporting procedures and restrictive practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
  • A positive, solution-focused attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
