You'll work to break down barriers for people with disabilities and ensure NDIS-funded participants achieve the best possible outcomes for a significantly improved quality of life.
As a Developmental Educator, you'll provide person-centered support and planning for people with disabilities, their families and support teams. You'll build strong relationships to help them envision a life full of positive experiences and opportunities for people of all ages.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to be a member of the DEAI (Membership required upon commencement)
- You may be required to submit a suitability assessment and be deemed a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (Evidence of letter required)

- Be driven to see high impact outcomes in people's lives
- Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check

As a Developmental Educator, you will:
- Work alongside participants and their key supports to develop new skills and habits. Problem-solve challenges that prevent participants from living fulfilled lives.
- Champion the role of a social model practitioner by helping people overcome barriers that keep them from engaging with their local community and the wider world. You won't do this alone—you'll work with the support of an interdisciplinary team and habit coaches (allied health assistants).
- Use evidence-based practice and professional reasoning to recommend the most appropriate team of supports, therapy, duration, location, and timing. Develop effective and strong working relationships with people and their families, identifying and addressing factors that may affect relationships, and repairing breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Enhance people's capacity to make their own life choices and increase their independence. Approach risk positively to achieve quality-of-life outcomes, while ensuring safeguards are in place to protect the rights and well-being of the most vulnerable.
