Position Available – In Home Care Educator

Location: Southport

Child: 5 years old, complex needs

We have a full time position in Southport to care for one 6 year old (ADHD, suspected Autism, developmental delay, speech delay, social delay)

We are seeking a experienced, patient, reliable, and caring Educator to provide structured support for a 6-year-old boy with ADHD, suspected autism, developmental delays, speech delay, and social challenges. The role requires someone who can create a calm, predictable environment while encouraging development in communication, social skills, and daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, child-focused care in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist with daily routines including morning activities, meals, and transitions.
  • Support communication development using simple language, visual aids, and positive reinforcement.
  • Implement strategies that help with emotional regulation, attention, and behaviour management.
  • Encourage play-based learning, social interaction, and skill-building activities suited to developmental level.
  • Follow established routines to create structure and consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with parent/guardian regarding progress, behaviours, and any concerns.

Days and hours (Possibly 50 hours a week)

Week 1:

  • Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Thursday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Total hours 34 hours

Week 2:

  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Thursday: 9:00am – 7:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Total 28 hours

Qualification:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care ACECQA approved Certified by a JP
  • Blue Card
  • First Aid and CPR Certification in an Education and Care Setting
  • ABN
  • PRODA
  • Current Child Protection
  • Full driver's license and car
  • Additional requirements on induction
