About the role

We're seeking two experienced Senior Project Managers to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects across our regional network. These site-based roles offer the opportunity to manage a portfolio of works, mentor project teams, and drive outcomes that directly impact rail operations. You'll oversee budgets, guide planning, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, all while supporting the growth and development of your team.

Key accountabilities include:

· Lead the delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across the regional rail network.

· Manage project budgets, risks, timelines, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

· Allocate and oversee workloads across Project Managers, Engineers, and support staff.

· Guide the development of project plans, including scope, cost, quality, and commissioning.

· Provide strategic oversight and escalate critical issues to the AWP Delivery Manager.

· Mentor and support team members, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery.

· Monitor financial forecasting and ensure accuracy within approved budgets.

· Support procurement activities and ensure compliance with V/Line policies.

· Travel across Victoria and support delivery during occupations and peak periods.

About you

You're a seasoned project leader with a strong technical foundation and a track record of delivering complex engineering projects. You thrive in dynamic environments, bring clarity to challenges, and know how to support teams through high-pressure periods. You're confident navigating systems, engaging stakeholders, and making decisions that balance operational needs with long-term outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Tertiary qualifications in engineering (mandatory); project management qualifications desirable.

· Demonstrated capability in delivering complex rail infrastructure projects.

· Strong background in signalling, track, civil structures, or facilities.

· Proven leadership experience managing medium to large teams.

· Skilled in stakeholder engagement and navigating organisational systems.

· Financially astute with experience managing budgets and forecasting.

· Willing to work flexibly on-site, including early starts and occasional night or weekend shifts during key project phases.

· Able to travel regionally and live away during key project phases.

· Clear communicator with sound judgement and strategic thinking.

· Motivated by team development and continuous improvement.
