About the role

In this role you will be able to utilise your strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and to respectfully assist and gain cooperation from clients, EGW colleagues and members of the public.  We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of Customer Service Officer fulltime ongoing tenure. As the first point of call for customer enquiries, we are looking for someone who holds a considerable level of skill in working with the public to consistently deliver a high level of service to our customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with billing inquiries, payments, and account management.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues and improve service delivery.
  • Educate customers on East Gippsland Water's services, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with CRM systems (desirable but not essential).

* This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 2 position, ($56, $72,911.12 per annum)

  3. Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service in a professional setting, with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to the needs of both internal and external customers.
  4. Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels, both within and outside the organisation.
  5. Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver quality outcomes within deadlines, particularly during periods of high activity.
  6. Demonstrates accountability, a positive attitude towards personal and professional development, and alignment with East Gippsland Water's core values and behaviours.
