An exciting new opportunity has emerged with the role of Director Network Performance within Sydney Trains Rail Operations branch. This pivotal role will drive enterprise-wide strategy, governance and performance accountability across Sydney Trains. With a mandate to deliver data-driven insights and lead systemic investigations into operational issues. This is a critical role in enhancing service reliability and informing operational decision-making across the organisation.
In this role, you'll:
- Provide an independent single source of data and actionable recommendations that inform strategic decision making and drive continuous improvement in network performance.
- Be accountable for the integrity and transparency of network performance reporting to the Sydney Trains executive. Ensure the transparency of performance metrics and drive the maturity of performance metrics and insights.
- Lead investigations into operational issues and incidents, identifying root cause analysis and systemic issues and develop recommendations to improve network performance
- Lead and govern the enterprise-wide performance framework for Sydney Trains aligning with Sydney Trains strategic objective and regulatory obligations
- Lead and deliver data driven actionable insights to the operational branches to improve network performance

About You
- You will have demonstrated experience in rail operations and thorough knowledge of investigation and reporting on engineering, operational, emergency and safety incidents.
- You bring deep experience in the management of complex data suites, including the optimisation and governance of data.
- You bring strong experience overseeing investigations and performance issues in a complex operational environment.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment within a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation.
- As a good problem solver, you will also have worked in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
- Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives and through transformation.
