The role
We're looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, dedicated and skilled Network, Voice & Data Engineer to join our technical team. You'll be responsible for support on our national service desk supporting, managing, and deploying network infrastructure, voice systems (FreePBX, MS Teams Calling), and firewall solutions across a diverse client base.
This is a hands-on role with exposure to cutting-edge technologies including SD-WAN's, Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, MPLS, and Microsoft Teams Calling.
Previous experience providing remote technical support and working as part of an external helpdesk / managed services team will be highly regarded.
What you'll do
Duties expected in this role (but not limited to):
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to our clients
- Configure, deploy, and support Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Design and implement secure Internet and WAN solutions
- Deploy and manage SD-WAN technologies including Cisco Viptela, Meraki, and Ubiquiti
- Install and maintain VoIP systems including FreePBX and Microsoft Teams Calling
- Perform structured cabling and patch panel installations as needed
- Troubleshoot network and voice issues across client environments
- Document network topologies, configurations, and change logs
- Assist with onboarding new clients and infrastructure upgrades
We don't expect you to have the following application knowledge, but you will be required to quickly adapt to the following if you don't have them already:
- ConnectWise
- IT Glue
- Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor
Skills and experience
- Previous experience working in an MSP / ISP environment.
- 2+ years' experience in network and voice engineering
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (routing, switching, VLANs)
- Experience with configuration and support of all mainstream firewalls
- Hands-on experience with FreePBX and SIP trunking
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Calling and M365 integration
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Viptela, Meraki, Ubiquiti)
- Familiarity with SolarWinds, NetFlow, and SD-WAN portals
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Great customer service with an attitude of willing to please and succeed
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Be an independent person who thrives in a multi-tasking environment
- Willingness to be hands-on and perform tasks of all levels of complexity
- Current driver's licence.
