
Warehouse Site Manager

The Site Manager is accountable for leading and overseeing all day‑to‑day operations at the Farmers Pick Sydney site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant running of all functions. This role is responsible for delivering operational excellence across receiving, storage, distribution, and quality assurance, while fostering a high‑performance culture and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Site Manager will ensure full compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, environmental, and security standards, and will drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), food safety, environmental, and security standards.
- Safeguard site operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Drive a "target zero" safety culture and lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage all day-to-day operations of the Farmers Pick Sydney site in line with company policies, vision, and local regulations.
- Ensure an effective organisational structure, clear workflows, and adequate resourcing to meet departmental deadlines and operational targets.
- Collaborate with other sites to ensure consistency, standardisation, and best practice sharing across national operations.
- Partner with the Head of Operations to identify, report, and implement improvement initiatives.
People Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, induct, train, and develop warehouse staff; maintain accurate training records.
- Plan and manage rosters to ensure production line efficiency and quality output.
- Set, monitor, and publish KPIs; coach, counsel, and recognise staff to achieve and exceed performance targets.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety conscious culture that encourages feedback, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular toolbox meetings to maintain open communication.
Inbound, Outbound & Inventory Management
- Oversee the inflow and outflow of goods, inventory accuracy, and all logistics and distribution activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in picking, packing, and dispatch processes to ensure high quality produce leaves the warehouse.
- Manage pallet control, including monthly CHEP and LOSCAM stocktakes.
- Work closely with the procurement team to maintain adequate stock levels and open communication on supply needs.
- Maintain a minimum of 98% inventory accuracy through robust stock control processes and regular cycle counts.
Facilities & Vendor Management
- Oversee the physical condition of the site, ensuring timely maintenance and compliance with service agreements (e.g., cleaners, pest control, forklift servicing).
- Manage operational relationships with waste management providers, consumables suppliers, trades, and contractors.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, transport companies, and other key stakeholders on daily operational matters.
- Ensure all email enquiries are responded to within 24 hours and follow up to confirm resolution.
- Support management and key stakeholders with additional operational requests as required.

Skills Required
Expertise in warehouse management procedures, systems, and industry best practices
Strong inventory control skills, including accurate stocktaking and cycle counting
Proven ability to implement process and efficiency improvement initiatives
Skilled in organising and leading large, multi‑shift teams to optimise labour utilisation
Knowledge of food safety, workplace health and safety, and relevant regulatory compliance needs
Proficiency with tech solutions supporting end‑to‑end operations and data‑driven decision‑making
Strong stakeholder management skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams
