The primary purpose of the Machinery Operator is to manage contrate stockpiles by commodity and grade, loading containers and stacking before loading to Road Transport. Basic Maintenance and cleaning tasks on Forklifts and Earth Moving Machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Correct and safe operation of forklifts 40 tonne stacking containers and loading and unloading road transport.
  • Correct and safe operation of CAT 972 equivalent Front End Loader and loading containers using load rite.
  • Correct and safe operation of Skid Steer, loading container using a load rite.
  • Stockpiling Mineral Concentrates by Grade, general house- keeping of stockpile pad.
  • Tally and reconciliation of material against mine daily production forecast
  • Blending Mineral Concentrate Grades and taking samples for metallurgical testing.
  • Accurate and timely completion and processing of all transport and logistics paperwork (con notes, container mass declarations, stockpile inventory maps )
  • Clean vehicles, equipment, customer goods and containers using high pressure water cleaners and air compressors as required.
  • Perform daily ''pre-start'' checks and inspections on all plant and equipment prior to use.
  • Carry out all tasks and instructions within set time-frames, to a high standard and in compliance with all appropriate laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Comply with conditions of entry at all sites, yards and business premises.
  • Keep equipment in a clean and working condition.
  • Report all damages, faulty equipment, incidents or accidents in a timely manner.
  • Present yourself for work in a clean and tidy uniform.
