About the role
We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to join a large-scale Information Management (IM) programme within government. This position will be pivotal in supporting two high-profile projects.
Both projects aim to deliver a modern Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution to replace legacy systems, enhance document, records, and correspondence management, and uplift organisational information management capability.
This role will involve working across multiple architectural domains, with a strong emphasis on designing and developing future-state information architecture and supporting the delivery of contemporary IM solutions. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders across the organisation and implementation partners, contributing to the design, assurance, and governance of information architecture.
This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Carseldine, QLD, with options for extension.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse and understand current-state information assets, applications, policies, and standards.
- Design and deliver future-state information architecture for the ECM solution, focusing on business, data, information, and security domains.
- Develop artefacts to support data migration activities aligned with the target-state architecture.
- Contribute to the design of future-state IM policies and services.
- Document and present information models, frameworks, taxonomies, metadata, and security controls.
- Ensure architectural outputs adhere to government and organisational standards, policies, and roadmaps.
- Support roadmap development for IM maturity uplift.
- Champion best practice in information management, metadata management, business intelligence, and content management.
- Participate in review boards (e.g. ARB, DRB) and assure architectural artefacts as required.
Highly desirable criteria
- Experience with transformation projects in information management, ECM, or electronic records/document management.
- Background in information or cyber security architecture.
- Exposure to emerging AI capabilities in the field of information management.
- Previous experience within a government or regulatory environment.
Desirable criteria
- Strong understanding of enterprise-scale ICT environments.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-disciplinary project teams.

- Demonstrated ability to design and implement greenfield target-state information architectures.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven teamwork and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
Benefits
- Opportunity to contribute to high-profile, transformational government projects.
- Long-term contract with potential for two 12-month extensions.
