Deaf Connect is looking for a Team Lead, Community Engagement who's passionate about people, teamwork, and building stronger communities

We're offering a full-time, flexible opportunity based in our Brisbane office. Our hybrid model supports balance, with core in-office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays

About the role:

In this leadership role, you'll guide and support our Community Engagement Coordinators, helping them deliver high-quality programs and services across local, regional, and virtual spaces. From coordinating outreach and events to building relationships with schools, organisations and stakeholders, you'll ensure our community engagement is inclusive, responsive and impactful.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

Lead and mentor a team of Community Engagement Coordinators nationally to achieve their goals and grow their skills.

Coordinate outreach, workshops, and events that connect, inform and inspire Deaf and hard of hearing communities in Queensland.

Build strong relationships with schools, local organisations, and stakeholders to strengthen support networks in Queensland.

Oversee service delivery to make sure it's consistent, high-quality, and aligned with community needs.

Support the team with admin, reporting, and compliance, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently

Experience leading people — with the ability to coach, support, and create a positive team culture.

Experience in providing information and referral support, focusing on outcomes through a community-centred approach.

Strong connections with, or lived experience in, Deaf and hard of hearing communities

Fluency in Auslan, strong communication skills, and respect for cultural diversity.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in remote team settings.

Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Creative problem-solving skills, adaptability, and strong organisational abilities.

You should also let us know if you have these other great skills:

Relevant qualifications or experience in Community Services, Human Services, or Disability fields.

Good knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission.
