About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, values-driven Communications and Engagement Officer to build and strengthen engagement with our audiences. Reporting directly to the Director of Services, you will develop, implement and monitor communication activities across a diverse range of channels. These include our website, social media channels, media releases, newsletters and publications. The role also leads the communications components of key campaigns and events, including World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Seniors Month and Ageism Awareness Day.
This exciting role will suit someone who is passionate about social impact, understands the importance of elevating older people's voices, and thrives in vibrant, collaborative environments.
This is a part time SCHADS Level 6 role, working 4 days per week. The position is based in the Brisbane CBD with flexible work arrangements on offer and salary sacrificing available.
Key Responsibilities
As Communications and Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for communications and content management and collaborate with our teams on campaigns, events and promotion of COTA Queensland's Vision. You will drive audience engagement and build on our subscriber base by developing targeted, relevant and compelling communications across all media channels.

About the successful candidate
As an accomplished communications and engagement professional, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A minimum three years' experience in communications, media or stakeholder engagement roles, ideally in the not-for-profit or community sectors.
- The ability to produce high-quality written, visual and digital content for a range of audiences and platforms.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
