This role requires a collaborative leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, issue, and track permits, maintaining accurate records of all PTW activities.
  • Lead the change management process to embed the PTW system into daily operations.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for employees and contractors on PTW compliance and best practices.
  • Support hazard identification, audits, and incident investigations to improve PTW outcomes.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, planning, WHS, and contractor teams to integrate permits into shutdowns and scheduled work.
  • Ensure record-keeping and compliance align with legislative and SIMEC standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and sharing best practices across the business.
About You
  • Experience in the resources or heavy industry sector, with strong technical capability.
  • In-depth understanding of WHS management systems, permit to work processes, and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse data and implement pragmatic solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to auditing and WHS qualifications desirable.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
