Principal Adviser

The Principal Advisor, Compliance will:
Lead the development and implementation of risk assessment and operational practice frameworks, processes and activities which support QCS delivering high quality prisoner management.
Provide regulatory oversight, advice and guidance to business areas, across all four functions of QCS, in relation to implementation of recommendations from both internal and external investigations, audits, inspections and reviews, in a manner that encourages better offender/prisoner outcomes and promotes collaborative and collegiate relationship development.
Regularly monitor, report on and identify trends relating to assurance and compliance activities and provide metrics to support recommended reviews, inspections and targeted auditing.
Maintain currency and high-level knowledge of contemporary compliance practices, particularly as it relates to the corrective services environment.
Raise and maintain a level of awareness of compliance obligations across QCS through such means as induction / onboarding, education and professional development programs, advisory services, and statutory updates.
Conduct compliance reviews that contribute to achieving best practice in prisoner management by identifying areas of risk and low compliance in relation to operational practices and standards and collaborating with business units to support continual improvement.
Proactively identify and share examples of effective and safe practice as well as creative and innovative practice which results in high levels of compliance, and improved practice.
