Brunswick Private is a 124 bed Rehabilitation, Medical and Mental Health hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the role of Assessor.  Part time position (15 hours per week).

This role will be responsible for assessing rehabilitation and medical patients to ensure their suitability for admission to Brunswick Private Hospital.

Duties:

The Nurse Rehabilitation Assessor is responsible for generating and maintaining consistent referral of patients (inpatient, day patient and outpatient) for admission as well as effectively and efficiently co-ordinating inpatient/day patients admissions and assessments (including completing rehabilitation assessment portal).

The role of the Nurse Rehabilitation Assessor is to actively promote Aurora Healthcare Australia and Brunswick Private Hospital services to referrers, resulting in optimum bed utilisation, day and outpatient growth and quality patient outcomes.

The Nurse Rehabilitation Assessor is responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with key referral sources including surgeons, specialists, GPs, Patient flow managers, discharge planners, Nursing Unit Managers and other personnel responsible for referrals.

Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong business relationships at all levels with private and public sector partners
  • The ability to work autonomously whilst contributing to the team with a results orientated focus
  • An ability to plan and implement a strategic approach to territory management;
  • Understanding of the rehabilitation process
  • Computer literacy

Selection Criteria

Mandatory:

  • Registered Nurse with experience in specialty of Rehabilitation
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment skills
  • Current drivers licence
  • Police and Working with Children's checks
  • Must be available Mondays and Tuesdays

Desirable:

  • Successful completion of FIM education
  • Understanding of marketing principles
  • Knowledge of private health sector funding models.
  • Previous experience in the Private Health sector.
  • At least 5 years post registration with a broad clinical knowledge base.
