About Us
As an evidence-based community support organisation, Fortem Australia provides Australia's emergency service and national security families (working as employees or volunteers) with comprehensive and integrated wellbeing support. In short, our mission is to support the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families – the people who protect and care for our communities.
This role will be a casual role (2 days per week) and will be based in Townsville as a remote role.
In this role, you will support the success of Fortem Australia through the coordination, design, and delivery of social connection activities and wellness support programs to Australia's national security and first responder personnel and their families. This includes providing support to the wider team and being the subject matter expert and point of contact for the relevant geographical area regarding the local community, and service providers.
Why choose us?
At Fortem Australia we take a whole of person and whole of community approach to wellbeing, and this applies to our staff just as much as it does to our clients. As a part of our team you will have:

Activities:
Contribute to the development of an annual activities schedule.
Deliver/facilitate connection opportunities and wellness support programs for national security and first responder personnel and their families via Fortem Australia's programs.

evidence-based and align with the activities framework and strategy;
delivered consistently within the relevant geographic area; and
aligned with Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles.
Work towards early intervention and help-seeking behaviour amongst national security and first responder personnel and their families.
Participate in regular follow-ups with Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC's), Care Coordinators, and Psychologists to gather timely feedback and share within Fortem Australia as appropriate to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
Ensure relevant administration and reporting requirements are met.
Develop and enhance relationships within relevant service suppliers.
Travel and work outside normal business hours as required to facilitate activities.
