As a
Cabin Engineer
, you will be working within the Engineering Technical Services, responsible for providing Continuing Airworthiness Management Services to the Qantas Group airlines.

Working within a specialist team of Engineers, you will ensure continual airworthiness support for cabin interior products across various aircraft fleets. This will involve management of the aircraft maintenance program, coordination of reliability initiatives and assessment of modifications that ensure the fleet continues to maintain the outstanding safety record of the organisation, improving fleet operational performance and optimising the cost of the asset.

You will demonstrate subject matter expertise across several cabin interior assets, and exercise a mature professional engineering judgment across a broad range of challenges.

You'll have –

  • Professional Engineering degree qualifications in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Structures or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with design and development aircraft cabin interiors for Boeing or Airbus aircraft.
  • Experience with Inflight Entertainment Systems is essential and must have a sound understanding of other cabin avionic systems
  • Provide timely customer-focused specialist engineering advice and support to the Qantas Group.
  • Thorough working knowledge of CASR Part 21 & Part 42 regulations. An understanding of EASA and FAA regulations is desirable. Prior CASR Part 21 or EASA Part 21 Design Approval experience will be highly regarded.
  • Managed small/medium design projects or tasks to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Highly developed skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage expectations of customers in line with relevant service level agreements.
  • Detailed knowledge of procedures and processes for continuing airworthiness of Qantas and customer aircraft.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Qantas and customer maintenance operations.
  • Commitment to being customer focused team member with flexibility and willingness to contribute to other business projects and interdisciplinary functions as required.
