JOIN OUR TEAM - The Waves Sports Club is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Front of House Café Manager (Permanent Position) to lead the day-to-day operations of our café. This hands-on leadership role is perfect for someone who's passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to inspire a team to deliver exceptional service. You'll be responsible for driving a positive, high-performance culture, elevating operational standards, and ensuring every guest enjoys a warm and memorable experience. About the Role:

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the front of house team with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting staff to maintain high service standards
  • Managing the floor during service to ensure efficiency and flow
  • Handling customer feedback and resolving issues with confidence and care
  • Collaborating closely with the Back of House and Front of House teams for seamless operations
  • Working alongside the Back of House Supervisor to develop and refine menu ideas based on customer feedback and seasonal trends
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience in café or hospitality operations, with a strong service mindset.
  • Barista experience and strong knowledge of coffee highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of café operations, POS systems.
  • A hands-on attitude, organised, proactive, and solutions focused.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and health regulations
  • Unrestricted availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Must have or willing to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
