Collaborate within a dedicated team in a unique environment as a Chefs and Cooks our Defence sites in Wagga – RAAF Base Wagga and Blamey Barracks. These roles are suitable for candidates that enjoy bulk cooking with a passion for quality, flavour, and presentation. You'll get full training and support while working in a dynamic and fun working environment.

The Position:

  • Casual, part time and full time positions available
  • Prepare high-quality, buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and events
  • Uphold catering standards, comply with OH&S and HACCP regulations, and maintain a strong focus on waste reduction
  • Support kitchen operations by managing inventory, receiving supplies, and monitoring cold room controls
  • Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions

The Person:

Chef:

  • $34 per hour
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Proven experience in large commercial kitchens.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and food safety.
  • Passionate about quality, with a focus on presentation and attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented, committed to personal and organisational success.

Cook:

  • $27.5 per hour
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in high-volume settings.
  • Good understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and kitchen protocols (HACCP knowledge desirable).
  • Able to follow set recipes and directions, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow.
