The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) values results, professional growth,

The ODPP is the largest criminal law firm in the state spanning across 16 different chambers across 9 locations throughout Queensland.

Our Role

To prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the State of Queensland. To act fairly and impartially, to assist the court to arrive at the truth.

Work Experience Placement Program (WEPP)

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the ODPP and its role and functions within the criminal justice system.
  • Work alongside Queensland's top Prosecutors and legal staff.
  • Regularly attend court and gain real world exposure to the criminal justice system.
  • Gain an insight into the preparation of real criminal cases.
  • Experience the professional environment of a busy criminal law practice

What You Bring

  • An interest in criminal law
  • The ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
  • Posses highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and explore new ideas.
  • A multi disciplinary mindset to take on different tasks and challenges.
  • Be supported in a culturally diverse workplace and have your work experience recognised for PLT purposes
