About Us
For over 14 years, The Baxter Inn has been one of Sydney's most-loved basement bars, famous for blues, whisky, pretzels and good times. We are a proud recipient of numerous awards and have been consistently recognised as one of the country's best bars. Our focus is on delivering a magical experience through friendly, unpretentious service.
While we feature one of Australia's largest whisky selections, our passion is sharing it with every guest in an approachable way. Our drinks program also includes large volumes of classic and bespoke cocktails, a wide-ranging ever rotating beer list, and a thoughtful concise wine list. The Baxter Inn is part of the Swillhouse family, which includes acclaimed venues like Restaurant Hubert, Alberto's Lounge, Le Foote, and The Caterpillar Club.
About the Role
As the Venue Manager, you will be instrumental in the success of the venue, working closely with the venue's senior management team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and inspiring a large, high-performing team on busy services.
- Upholding our world-class standards for cocktails, spirits, and service.
- Assisting in the management and training for one of the country's most extensive whisky lists.
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture centred on learning and professional growth.
- Ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable and magical experience.
About You
We are looking for a leader with a passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable moments. Key qualities we're looking for include:
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume, quality-driven bars.
- An open mind, a team-first mentality, and an unpretentious attitude.
- A solid grounding in whisky is beneficial, but an encyclopaedic knowledge isn't necessary; a passion to learn is what truly counts.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on building positive team dynamics and leading by example.
- A genuine desire to contribute to a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and teamwork.
