About the role
- Responsible for coordinating the assessment and preparation of Development Assessment Panel (DAP) reports and State Development Assessment Unit recommendations
- Coordinate, prepare and monitor planning reforms, and align the City's local planning framework
- Undertake and coordinate complex projects, programs and studies
- Coordinate the preparation and review of Local Planning Policies and Planning Procedures
- Investigate, evaluate and report on complex planning issues and proposals.
With extensive practical experience in statutory and strategic planning matters, you will require a detailed knowledge of state and local town planning policy and procedural frameworks and statutory processes.
You have successfully managed significant projects and have been instrumental in developing and revising policies relevant to your areas of expertise.
A degree in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) and current membership (or eligibility to become a member) of the Planning Institute of Australia are essential for this role, as is a current C class driver's licence.
Your highly developed negotiation and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with colleagues, consultants and landowners/developers. Your strong time management and organisational skills give you the edge in being part of a team focussed on providing robust and appropriate development options to the Rockingham community.
The following selection criteria will need to be addressed during your online application:
- Comprehensive knowledge of urban planning administrative and statutory procedures and policies
- Extensive practical experience in the profession of urban planning
- Ability to manage significant planning projects including policy development
- Ability to contribute to the management of the Statutory Planning Team and provide specialist advice to planning staff.
What we offer:
This position offers a salary of $116,412 to $124,121 per annum, plus:
- A City vehicle may be available for commuter use as provided by City policy
- 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5% resulting in a total of 22%
- Rostered days off and two additional paid days of absence per annum
- A variety of health and wellbeing programmes including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payments of up to $200 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services
- Training and development opportunities including paid study leave and study fees
- Salary packaging opportunities for motor vehicles with novated leasing.
