A rare and career-defining opportunity is available for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead the reopening of the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel (SIBH) - a landmark venue within the Moreton Hospitality portfolio.
Following a significant renovation and modernisation, the hotel is preparing to reopen with upgraded facilities, refreshed spaces, and a brand-new team. The Role - Key Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will:
Lead operations across bistro, bars, gaming, functions, events, retail and accommodation, with direct accountability for financial and operational outcomes.
Liaise with the Retail Manager to ensure bottle shop operations remain aligned with the hotel's brand standards, promotions, and customer experience.
Inspire and manage department heads, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
Drive profitability by meeting budgets, controlling labour and COGS, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
Champion guest experience, ensuring consistent quality across all touchpoints and responding proactively to feedback.
Oversee accommodation management, ensuring rooms, services, and guest facilities meet high standards.
Partner with Sales and Marketing to grow brand visibility, functions, and holiday trade while strengthening the venue's role as the island's community hub.
Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, gaming regulations, WHS, and other statutory obligations while safeguarding the hotel's assets.
Provide accurate and timely operational and financial reporting to senior leadership.
The Venue - Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel
Perched above the iconic Cylinder Beach, the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel is far more than a pub - it is the island's flagship hospitality precinct. Following a major renovation, the hotel is set to feature:
Upgraded bistro, multiple bars, and an expansive beer garden

Ongoing operation of three bottle shops across the island

This relaunch marks the start of a new era - and as General Manager, you'll have the opportunity to build the team, shape the culture and success of the precinct from the ground up, and set the tone for how the venue enters its next chapter.
You'll be a great fit if you have:
Proven success as a General Manager (minimum 2 years) in a high-volume, multi-outlet hospitality venue.
Strong financial acumen, with a track record of hitting labour cost, COGS, and profitability targets.
Operational breadth across food & beverage, gaming, functions/events, retail and accommodation.
Experience managing compliance obligations across liquor, gaming, WHS, and licensing.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and hold teams accountable.
A hands-on leadership style and genuine passion for hospitality, community, and guest experience.
