After School & Holiday Care Mackay is a not-for-profit service overseen by a volunteer parent association located in East Mackay. The service provides Before School Care, After School Care and Holiday care for up to 50 children per session aging 5-12years servicing 3 schools. About the Role:

Reporting to the Coordinator you will be an Educator who will respond to children's strengths, interests, and needs by assisting in implementing and providing a diverse, stimulating and inclusive program.

Your main Responsibilities will be;

  • Ensuring all children are actively supervised at all times
  • Ensuring safe food handling and hygiene practices are upheld at all times
  • Sharing your creativity with the whole team
  • Building positive relationships with children and families
  • Light cleaning duties
  • Set up and pack up of the centres activities
  • Games, crafts, arts and cooking activities

Our Casual employment offers split shifts allowing flexibility to study, work and still have time for family and hobbies.

About you:

  • Minimum of a Cert III in Early Childhood Education & Care, or a Diploma of Children's Services (or be working towards one)
  • A genuine passion for children, nurturing approach, caring, supporting and proactive attitude
  • Experience working within After School Care/Childcare sector desirable
  • Hold a Paid Working with Children check/Blue Card (or able to obtain)
  • Hold current First Aid and CPR certificate (or able to obtain)
  • Availability Morning and Afternoons: Monday to Friday (All day available during vacation care program)
