Position Overview

The OSHC Educator is responsible for providing a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for children attending before-school, after-school and vacation care programs.  Working as part of a team, the Educator supports the planning and implementation of high-quality programs that foster children's wellbeing, learning and development in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF), My Time, Our Place Framework and service philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and engage with children in a safe and positive manner during before and after school hours.Assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of play-based, age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, physical activity and social development.

Build respectful and supportive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Ensure the environment is clean, safe and well-organised at all times.

Support children's individual needs, interests and wellbeing.

Follow and uphold all policies and procedures relating to child safety, behaviour management, health and hygiene.

Contribute to daily routines, snack preparation and pack-up duties.t

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions and continuous improvement processes.

Record attendance and maintain accurate documentation, as required.

Actively uphold the service's philosophy, values and inclusion practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification under ACECQA)

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent clearance

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates

Knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and "My Time, Our Place" framework

Experience working with school-aged children (preferred)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Commitment to child safety and wellbeing

Work Hours (typical shifts include):

Before School Care: 6:00am to 8:30am (as rostered)

After School Care: 2:00pm to 6:00pm (as rostered)

Vacation Care: Between 6:30am to 5:30pm (as rostered)
