Role Description

This role for a Support Worker at I've Got You Empowerment involves being a key partner in our participants' journeys. You will be responsible for providing hands-on support for daily living activities, vital skill development, and facilitating meaningful community access and participation. Support is typically provided in the homes of participants or out in the community, aligned with their individual goals.

We proudly service the whole of Canberra and Queanbeyan, with shifts ready to go on a casual basis.

Important Shift Information:

  • Shift locations and duration will depend entirely on our participants' needs.
  • We cannot guarantee a specific number of hours, but your willingness to be flexible in travel and shift times will result in more opportunities for work.
  • There is the opportunity to transition to Permanent Part-Time employment for individuals who demonstrate reliability and commitment.
Essential Requirements
  • Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (must be obtained before commencing supports).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered care and NDIS principles, with a focus on empowerment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
What Will Make You Stand Out?
  • Demonstrated experience in providing support services in a similar role.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health, or complex needs.
  • Knowledge of NDIS processes and documentation.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field.
  • Qualifications or experience in other industries that may be of interest to participants (e.g., music, sport, art, or education).
