Join a national program that's shaping the future of Australian Defence capability. The AIR-5428 Program is undergoing a series of Continuous Improvement and Efficiency (CIE) Projects to optimise processes, promote a collaborative operating environment between customer and industry partners, and enable a data-driven culture across the Program.
We're seeking a Business Analyst who thrives on solving complex problems, driving improvement, and seeing their work make a tangible impact. Based in Adelaide or Melbourne, you'll join a supportive team that values innovation, balance, and professional growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
Under the guidance of the CIE Lead, the Continuous Improvement & Efficiency Analyst is responsible for the following and more:
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives that automate, integrate, and simplify workflows.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify inefficiencies and deliver measurable results.
- Use Atlassian JQL (Jira Query Language) to retrieve data, track progress and develop reports to drive smarter decisions.
- Collaborate with system owners to assess and optimise toolsets supporting digital transformation.
- Champion change across the program—promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Facilitate workshops and lessons-learned sessions, turning stakeholder input into actionable improvements.
- Conduct gap analyses and document clear, data-informed recommendations.
About you:
- Experience in business analysis, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred).
- Skilled in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and confident using JQL to support reporting and analytics.
- Strong communicator—great at leading discussions, creating training content, and influencing outcomes.
- Confidence in facilitating discussions, developing training material, and influencing change.
- Experience working in Defence, aerospace, or other complex technical environments (desirable).
