Location: Community Options High Street

Hours: 8am-4pm Monday to Friday

About cape Community

cape Community comprises of Community Living, Outreach and Options i.e. Day Programmes responsible for maintaining an environment that encourages independence and empowers individuals to actively participate in their life.

There are currently three-Day Programs which provide individual skill enhancement, prevocational training, and leisure and recreation activities.

The support provided by cape staff encourages participants to experience opportunities while networking within the broader community.

The Position

In collaboration with the Operations Manager, Community Options, this role is responsible for:


• Providing leadership to the Community Options day service team ensuring that services are delivered in line with Nadrasca's service delivery framework.


• Ensuring that procedures and practices support the delivery of sensitive and effective services for the people Nadrasca supports, and their families.


• Assigning support workers to programs of support activities, ensuring that participant ratios are met, and participants are supported to the highest possible standard to achieve their goals.


• Providing coaching and feedback to disability support workers via regular supervision.

About you

You are a people person and team player with a passion for doing better, and an ambition to make a real difference.

You will have:

Qualifications


• A Cert IV or above qualification in disability or community services is essential


• Current level 2 First Aid Certificate is required.


• Current drivers' licence is required.

Experience and expertise.


• Minimum 3 years' experience in disability support is essential.


• The ability to provide group and individual support to people with a disability.


• Understanding of positive behaviour support and the ability to communicate effectively and provide engaging opportunities to people with a disability.


• Networking and negotiation skills with the ability to broker opportunities for people with disabilities.


• The ability to develop programs of support to people of all ages.


• Self-motivated and able to work without supervision with the ability to lead others.


• High level of accountability and capacity to demonstrate best practice, at all times.


• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.


• Ability to exercise sensitivity and maintain strict confidentiality, when required.


• Ability to seek feedback, track outcomes and evaluate success of programs and activities.


• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with staff, participants, families, and carers.


• Strong administrative skills, excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
