Richmond, Australia Eugene Labs Full time
About Eugene

Eugene is a venture backed Australian health-tech company redesigning how we use genomics to prevent disease and stay healthy. Pairing at-home medical-grade genetic testing with expert clinical care, Eugene partners with insurers, clinics, and health systems to make preventive genomic care accessible to all - shifting the focus of healthcare from treatment to true prevention.

Eugene is building a future where everyone can sequence their DNA once and receive personalised guidance for life, transforming genomics from a one-time diagnostic tool into a lifelong foundation for better health.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of health tech innovation. You will join a talented and supportive crew in a flexible remote-first culture. Variety is guaranteed for you as a design all-rounder - you will shape brand, growth and design operations from day one. For when you need some face time, we have a Melbourne co-working hub and an annual team retreat. You will be mentored to grow into product and AI innovation with structured coaching and regular 1:1s with our Product Lead. This is a full time, permanent role and Australia work rights are required.

What you'll do
  • Ship scroll-stopping social assets that actually move the needle.
  • Make onboarding new partners a breeze with easy to remix asset packs.
  • Design new website sections that balance story, speed and accessibility.
  • Template presentation decks for speedy reuse and automation.
  • Run scrappy brand experiments, measure the impact, and share the insights.
  • Guard the brand where it matters, and push it forward where it should evolve.
  • Design for IRL - think brochures, merch, kits, labels, conference collateral.
  • Own print production end-to-end: specs, proofs, supplier comms, timelines, delivery.
  • Level up in product design over time.

Requirements

About you
  • 3+ years professional design experience. Bonus points if you've worked in startups or health-tech.
  • Strong visual craft in layout, typography and information hierarchy.
  • Confident in print production and supplier handoff.
  • Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Clear communicator with tidy file hygiene and reliable handoffs.
  • Some exposure to product design and ai tools.
  • Interest in front-end development and Shopify.
What you're looking for
  • You're looking for a role with broad scope - designing for all aspects of our customer experience, and you want a role that uses all your strengths and builds new ones.
  • A flexible workplace that recognises everyone has responsibilities and joys outside work.
  • Challenging, meaningful work that has a positive impact on the lives of the people we serve.
  • Collaboration with a helpful and encouraging team that welcomes you, your ideas and your lived experience.
  • An environment where you will learn something new every day from healthcare technologies to product development and leadership.
  • A company that is committed to doing well by doing good.

Benefits

  • Generous parental leave policy, including additional support and flexibility for anyone with children or expecting.
  • The ability to work remotely and be flexible with hours.
  • A yearly L&D budget to support your professional development and help you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in your field.
  • A monthly wellness budget to encourage you to prioritise self-care and well-being, which we believe are key to maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Challenging, meaningful work that has a positive impact on the lives of our customers.
  • Work at a company that is committed to doing well by doing good.

Please note, all applications must include a portfolio of your work
