We are seeking a dedicated and proactive team member to support the maintenance and enhancement of Council's Open Spaces and assets. This role involves hands-on labouring activities and mowing across the city, ensuring public areas are kept in optimal condition through efficient use of resources and adherence to Council standards. The successful candidate will assist in the upkeep and security of equipment, tools, and infrastructure, while identifying opportunities for operational improvements and contributing to the review of completed works.
Key responsibilities include carrying out general open spaces maintenance duties, which encompass the operation of hand-held and ride-on self-propelled plant. The role requires a practical mindset, attention to safety and a commitment to maintaining high standards in public environments. Ou ideal candidate will have:
Certificate II or III in: Nursery, Parks and Gardens, Landscape, Conservation Land Management, Arboriculture or Turf Maintenance.
Proven experience in open spaces maintenance, including front deck mowers and related equipment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and public interaction
Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Solid understanding of WHS, statutory requirements and quality systems
Willingness to contribute to business and quality system improvements
Basic competency in using computers and mobile devices

Permanent full time, 38 hours per week with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight
Commencing salary range from $58,042 - $61,595 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Plus 12% superannuation
An Adverse Working Conditions Allowance (Level 1) of $19.49 per week in accordance with the applicable award
