About the role
As a Commerical Underwriter, you'll be responsible for assessing and approving commercial loan applications in line with Liberty's credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk framework. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely settlements, maintaining high-quality documentation, and supporting our business partners with exceptional service.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and is passionate about delivering operational excellence. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth loan processing, while also contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and customer focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess commercial/SMSF loan applications in line with Liberty's credit policies and relevant legislation.
- Make credit decisions within your delegated authority and escalate exceptions appropriately.
- Maintain high-quality electronic files that exceed audit expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance team performance and cross-functional relationships.
About you
- Experience in commercial credit assessment/lending/SMSF.
- Strong understanding of lending policies, risk frameworks, and compliance obligations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
