About Aeromedical Operations:

Aeromedical & Special Operations is a core service delivery directorate of NSW Ambulance and provides specialist coordination, response, treatment and multi-modal transport for pre-hospital incidents, medical retrievals, long distance medical transports, search and rescues and major incidents. It utilises both fixed wing and rotary wing aircrafts with a state-wide fleet of 13 helicopters, 7 fixed wing aircraft and 8 road retrieval ambulances, transporting 12,000 patients per year. It is recognised internationally as a world class organisation and a beacon of thought leadership in the sector.

The service is expanding with three new helicopter bases planned for Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga and Moruya, which will enable helicopters to reach most NSW towns within 60 minutes. This will further strengthen this vital emergency medical network that delivers hospital-level care to patients in remote and regional areas.

NSW Ambulance is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment which reflects the community we serve. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQA+, neurodiverse individuals, and people with disabilities to apply
