About the Team
The Funding Policy and Coordination Branch is a new central function for policy development, strategic direction, and governance oversight within the NSW Reconstruction Authority to support the delivery of programs under the Australian Government's Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The Branch is responsible for designing and implementing sector-wide systems, policies, and procedures that govern programs across all disaster recovery domains—social, built, economic, and environment.
As the NSW Government lead on reform initiatives for the DRFA, the Branch drives policy enhancements and aims to deliver improvements that support NSW delivery agencies, as well as improvements to councils and communities recovering from disasters. The team also provide secretariat support services for cross government decision making bodies. The team is responsible for assurance and oversight of the DRFA portfolio and regular reporting on status, risk and budget to facilitate evidence-based decision making and tracking and reporting of progress of recovery initiatives. These efforts support more centralised and effective decision-making for disaster recovery across NSW.
Senior Project Officer
As Senior Project Officer, you'll manage the full lifecycle of diverse projects and programs of work. You'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with quality standards and agency methodologies. You will support effective and efficient governance and decision-making forums, while also leading briefs, correspondence and requests for information on the DRFA.
You'll build strong stakeholder relationships, monitor risks and benefits, and provide expert advice to support evidence-based decision making. You'll also lead project teams and contribute to continuous improvement across systems, frameworks and planning.
There are currently Senior Project Officer roles available in the Change and Reform Team and Investment Review and Analysis Team within the Funding Policy and Coordination Branch.
Senior Project Officer (Portfolio & Reporting Analyst)
In this role, you'll drive improvements in the administration of the DRFA by leading reporting, system development, and portfolio analysis. You'll design and implement new tools and processes to enhance visibility of budget, risk, and performance, while supporting cross-government collaboration and strategic decision-making through accurate, timely reporting and stakeholder engagement.
About You
You have solid experience managing complex projects with autonomy and accountability. You're confident in coordinating resources, budgets and reporting, and you know how to navigate competing priorities to deliver results.
You're solution focused and a strong communicator and collaborator. You have a knack for innovative problem-solving and stakeholder engagement. Your ability to provide strategic advice and manage emerging issues makes you a trusted contributor to organisational success.
You are a strategic thinker and skilled coordinator with ideally an understanding of disaster recovery funding frameworks, particularly the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
You will have a passion for designing and developing new and improved systems, policies, processes and reporting and governance frameworks which will support improved administration and oversight of the DRFA.
