Position: Business Development Manager

Location: Sydney Office, Botany NSW 2019

About the Role: We are seeking a Business Development Manager to enhance our market position and drive financial growth. This role includes setting both long-term and short-term sales goals, cultivating key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and staying updated on market trends. The manager will prepare and coordinate tenders to strengthen our business profile and brand, convert opportunities into projects, and play a pivotal role in increasing company turnover. Additionally, the manager will support pitches and presentations for new business, manage existing client relationships, and ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities:

  • New business development: Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business. Facilitate and champion opportunities through the Production and Estimating Teams to submission including high level strategy around winning the Tender.
  • Client retention: Present an image to the client that reflects the business culture and values of Girvan in alignment with the strategic business and marketing plan.
  • Business development planning: Present to and consult with senior management and directors on business trends with a view to developing new service categories. Develop growth strategies and plans. Identify opportunities for services that will lead to an increase in sales. Using knowledge of market and competitors, identify and develop the company's value proposition. Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or sales.
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy.
  • Extensive experience in design and construct.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of the fit-out and refurb construction space.
  • Understanding of the tendering process.
  • Experience working to and exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and communications trends and processes.
  • Solid written English and grammar skills.
  • High attention to detail and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Ability to manage strict project timelines and demanding project situations.
  • Strong organisational and sales skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and motivate a team.
