About the role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Program Officer to join the Harm Prevention team to help successfully develop and deliver programs and services that prevent or reduce harm to the Victorian community.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering key elements of programs and services that sit in the Harm Prevention Program Roadmap, which may include Maternity or Surgery Programs of work, as well as new programs as they arise.

You report to the Manager, Harm Prevention Programs and your role in the Harm Prevention team within the Risk, Insurance and Claims Services Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision making for a suite of Harm Prevention programs and services, within the context of the wider Harm Prevention Roadmap and VMIA strategy.

  • Support the planning, design, execution, monitoring, evaluation, and closure of programs, ensuring deliverable are achieved within expected time frames and according to allocated budget.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services across their life cycle, ensuring services achieve their targets and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate program and service documentation including client facing collateral, financial documentation and forecasting and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with our external partners.
  • Contribute to the identification of the best suppliers to support our programs and services and manage procurement in line with VMIA policies and guidelines.
  • Reporting including monthly program and service reporting, insights, and risk assessments.

Who you work with

  • Work closely and consult regularly with the Subject Matter Experts, Manager for Harm Prevention Program and Program Leads, Manager for Risk Advisory and Risk Advisers in the Health practice team to ensure that the program runs to schedule, to scope and is informed by the latest evidence.
  • Engage with the Head of Health Sector Practice and other members of the RICS division to provide any relevant documentation for reviewing and signing.
  • Participate with external stakeholders including VMIA clients, service partners such as the Department of Government Services, the Department of Health, Health Services, other Victorian Government Departments, OVIC, cyber security and health subject matter experts.
  • Work with your peers across the organisation including the Communications Team, Insurance Services, Business Performance, Insights and Analytics and Client Advisory.

What we are looking for

  • Excellent organisational skills and can manage tasks to completion when they require collaboration from multiple teams and levels of management.
  • Experienced in building relationships across all levels within an organisation and can influence and engage with external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Draw on a robust understanding of our clients including DH and Vic Government agencies and health sector's unique needs and challenges and collaborate with colleagues across VMIA to ensure our business is best placed to support our clients achieve their objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively with excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient analytical and decision-making skills and sound knowledge in project management.
  • Advanced technology and computer skills, MS Services suite and Portfolio Project Management Suits, SharePoint essential and Microsoft Project, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Qualifications

  • You have attained or are working towards a relevant tertiary qualification and or working towards a project management certification.

Desirable requirements but not essential:
- It is desirable to hold a membership of a relevant Risk Management, insurance, and relevant organisation and have experience in the Health Sector or Government.

Salary Information

  • At VMIA, we offer competitive salaries based on the role's classification and your skills and experience. Typically, new employees start at the minimum of the salary range, however, consideration may be given to starting above the minimum of the band should you demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role or possess unique and desirable skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
