An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Social Policy Group, Multicultural Affairs Branch, as a Grants Program Support Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Multicultural Affairs works in partnership with Victoria's diverse multicultural communities and brings together all the policy functions and program activity areas that drive the Victorian Government's policy agenda and commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaged and harmonious multicultural community in Victoria. The Division has two branches: Programs and Partnerships, and Policy.

As a Grants Program Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality programs designed to support Victoria's diverse multicultural communities.

This role will contribute to the implementation and oversight of key Multicultural Affairs initiatives working across a range of grant programs designed to support multicultural communities and initiatives to be implemented in response to Victoria's Multicultural Review recommendations. This role will also support other program areas within the Multicultural Affairs portfolio at peak times.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound program and grants management experience, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support the delivery of programs and initiatives under the Multicultural Affairs portfolio. Delivery of this work will rely on your administrative and business systems skills and require effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

The third day of attendance will be agreed with the Manager on commencement.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery and administration of grant programs and initiatives with a proven ability to coordinate processes, track progress, ensure compliance, and manage respective data.
  • Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.
  • Sound problem solving skills and ability to seek all relevant information and to identify and propose workable solutions to problems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and collaborative working skills and ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of the needs and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery.
  • Strong self-management skills including the ability to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
  • Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, mail merge, and related systems to manage documents, data, and workflows efficiently with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
