Disability Support Worker – NDIS

Employment Type: Casual

About the Role:

We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Disability Support Workers to join the team and provide high-quality, person-centred care to NDIS participants. The ideal candidates will have a genuine passion for supporting individuals to live independently and comfortably in their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care including assistance with hygiene, grooming, and dressing
  • Assist with mobility and transfers using manual handling techniques (hoists, slide sheets, etc.)
  • Perform domestic assistance such as cleaning, shopping, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Support with medication administration as per guidelines and training
  • Engage participants in social and community activities
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation of supports delivered
  • Provide care in Supported Independent Living (SIL) settings, where applicable
  • Use nutritional knowledge to assist in preparing healthy meal options
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with participants, families, and team members
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum 12 months experience in disability or aged care support
  • Experience working with clients with mental health challenges and/or intellectual disabilities
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Blue Card
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence
  • Experience in aged care environments (for some participant profiles)
  • Familiarity with aged care award coverage (where relevant)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and follow care plans

Availability Requirements:

  • Available for a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Able to work 4 to 10 hours per day
  • Willing to travel (please share your preferred travel distance)
  • Availability for sleepover shifts
