Brief Description
The role
In this role, you'll help strengthen the way we manage and embed risk across the organisation. You'll work closely with the Senior Manager Operational Risk, providing key insights, reporting and advisory support that ensures our risk frameworks are practical, effective and continuously improving.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, from supporting operational risk reporting and assurance activities, to helping deliver training and risk awareness initiatives that make a real impact.
Position Accountabilities
As our new Operational Risk Analyst, you'll:
- Support our risk and control self-assessment process, helping ensure risks and controls are accurately captured and monitored.
- Prepare and contribute to operational risk reports and insights for senior leaders, including content for the Chief Risk Officer's reporting.
- Provide advisory support on risk management practices, frameworks and methodologies across the business.
- Assist in the delivery of education and awareness sessions to strengthen risk capability across all teams.
- Help drive continuous improvement initiatives that simplify and enhance how we manage operational risk.
- Promote a positive risk culture by partnering with stakeholders and supporting first line teams in meeting their risk obligations.
What Experience You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Around 2+ years' experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, audit or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders and subject matter experts.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for improving risk processes and outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, business, finance, or a similar field is favourable.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector (highly regarded).
- Familiarity with risk management systems (such as Archer or similar platforms) will be an advantage.
Location –Toowong
