We are a large, award-winning company with an excellent market reputation seeking a dedicated and reliable Spray Painters Assistant (Refinish Prepper) to join our busy workshop team in Salisbury.
This full-time position is focused on the preparation of cosmetic and light collision damage to late-model passenger vehicles. You will play a key role in supporting our high-quality refinish process and ensuring a smooth workflow for the spray-painting team.
This role would suit a qualified spray painter seeking to step into a support-based role or an individual with prior experience in vehicle preparation. You'll take pride in your work, follow process, and contribute positively to our workshop culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for refinishing, including masking, sanding, and priming.
- Carry out prep work for cosmetic repairs and light collision damage.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all OH&S and PPE policies.
- Work closely with the Manager and spray painting team to meet daily production targets.
- Perform quality checks to ensure vehicles are ready for refinishing to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar vehicle preparation or refinish support role preferred.
- Trade-qualified refinish technicians seeking a downscaled or support role are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with Axalta products is advantageous but not essential – training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow process.
- Understanding of safety and PPE requirements in a workshop environment.
