have partnered with a new hospitality group set to open a bold new Japanese fusion restaurant and bar in Melbourne. Offering a modern dining experience inspired by Japanese flavours with Western influence, this is an incredible opportunity to play a key role in building a venue from the ground up.

We're seeking a
Head Chef
to collaborate with the Executive Chef in creating and delivering a standout menu, while leading all back-of-house operations and developing a high-performing kitchen team. If you love pushing culinary boundaries, bringing bold ideas to life and setting new standards, this is your chance to make your mark on one of Melbourne's exciting new venues.

What do you do?

  • Oversee all BOH operations to ensure efficiency, high standards and smooth service.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to design, develop and refine a creative menu.
  • Manage food costs and minimise wastage while maintaining premium quality.
  • Build, lead and inspire your own kitchen team to set the standards and foster a culture of passion, teamwork and innovation.

What do you need?

  • 3+ years experience as a Head Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese/Asian Fusion cuisine.
  • Creative approach with hands-on experience in developing and designing menus.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage food costs whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, inspire and mentor a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
