Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with all members of the Leadership Team to enact the school vision and strategic plan, with a focus on inclusion.
- Working collaboratively with all key stakeholders to build positive relationships that promotes and supports the learning and inclusion of students with additional needs.
- Developing sustainable partnerships and maintaining positive relationships with and between: staff, students, parents, and external organisations.
- Leading case management of students including the management of student behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
- Leading curriculum in line with school and departmental initiatives, with a focus on best practice.
- Tracking student outcomes and identifying trends in the areas of engagement, behaviour and effort, and developing support/intervention plans to promote student achievement.
- Maintaining a high visibility and presence within the school community to support student inclusion.
- Identifying and regularly acknowledging, the progress, efforts, achievements of students.
- Embedding socially just practices in daily school life for students so no student is 'left behind'
