Head of Special Education Services (HO1) - Haigslea State School - Special Education Program
Lead a distinctive and community-focused school in Queensland's rural education landscape.
A permanent appointment is available for a Head of Special Education Services to join Haigslea State School, commencing 20 October 2025.
Haigslea State School is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to champion inclusive education as Head of Special Education Services.
In this pivotal role, you will foster a culture of equity and excellence for students with disability, leading high-quality teaching practices and ensuring appropriate adjustments in line with current legislation and policy.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and help shape a supportive, inclusive school environment.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
