Senior Associate (5+PAE ) - Projects Lawyer

Our client is a leading renewable energy business with a growing portfolio of large-scale projects across Australia and the APAC region. The company focuses on the development, construction, and operation of solar, wind, and energy storage projects, supporting the ongoing shift to reliable and sustainable energy.

This role is suited to a senior legal professional with a strong background in project delivery, procurement, and front-end construction law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating project agreements, including construction contracts, consultancy agreements, and supply contracts.
  • Advising on procurement models, contract structures, and risk allocation.
  • Supporting the legal and commercial functions through project development, execution and delivery.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders across legal, project management, engineering, commercial, and finance teams.
  • Assisting with compliance, regulatory reviews, and contract management processes.
  • Providing strategic legal input on contractual risks, obligations, and project governance.

Ideal Candidate

  • Admitted legal practitioner in Australia with at least 5+ years' PQE in projects, construction, or infrastructure law.
  • Proven experience in front-end project documentation, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with standard form construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous in-house or secondment experience is beneficial but not essential.
