The Data Collection Liaison Officer provides day to day management of specialised mental health and alcohol and other drugs data collections within the Mental Health Systems and Collections Team, Statistical Services Branch.

What you'll do

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of mental health and alcohol and other drug data sets and provide ongoing liaison, advice and support to providers on matters relating to definition, collection and submission of data sets.
  • Provide ongoing liaison, advice and support to Hospital and Health Services, non-government and private agencies regarding mental health and alcohol and other drugs information systems.
  • Provide specialist advice and recommendations regarding the maintenance, review and enhancement of mental health and alcohol and other drug information systems.
  • Develop and implement procedures to identify and rectify discrepancies in information to ensure a high quality of mental health and alcohol and other drug data sets.
  • Prepare high quality and timely reports of mental health and alcohol and other drug data to senior staff, other key stakeholders as well as meeting State and Commonwealth reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of high-quality data collection and information system documentation and communications.
  • Undertake routine software testing across various applications.
  • Perform administrative functions and other duties as directed by the Manager/Supervisor.

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Demonstrated skills in the collection, processing and compilation of statistical data.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and collating meaningful reports from available mental health and alcohol and other drug data sets, across a range of clinical and administrative databases.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and an ability to liaise with providers and users of data and the development of effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
  • Stimulates ideas and innovation – Actively participates in the design of new solutions and new ways of working.
  • Makes insightful decisions – Gains insight into issues by analysing the available information in a critical manner.
