About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Director, you'll play a key role in overseeing the delivery of end-to-end payroll services for a portfolio of clients. This role will see you working closely with internal consultants, reviewing outputs, ensuring compliance, and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review end-to-end payroll processing across multiple clients (5-2,000 employees)
  • Manage and support a small team of payroll officers and specialists
  • Review payroll outputs, ensure accuracy and compliance with legislation and awards
  • Provide payroll tax and advisory support in collaboration with the Tax and Legal team
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement and system implementation projects
  • Build strong client relationships, providing guidance and support as required

About You

You're an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment. You enjoy problem-solving, working autonomously, and supporting others to deliver quality outcomes.

You will have:

  • Proven experience managing or leading payroll within an outsourced or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and EBAs
  • Experience with large systems (e.g. Aurion, Employment Hero, Chris21, SAP, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on solutions, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction
