SMSF Accountant /Manager

Join us as an SMSF Specialist

Are you passionate about self-managed superannuation funds and looking to take your career to the next level? We're seeking an experienced 
SMSF Specialist
 to join our professional and supportive team.

In this role, you'll work closely with a diverse client base, managing all aspects of SMSF compliance, accounting, and advisory. You'll also play a key part in guiding clients through complex superannuation matters while contributing your expertise to the wider team.

Job Description

  • Preparation of SMSF financial statements and tax return and audit file
  • Review of SMSF annual account packages prepared by team members
  • Managing end-to-end SMSF administration processes
  • Liaising with clients, investment advisers and auditor
  • Delivering personalised tax advice and strategic planning solutions
  • Experience managing a portfolio of SMSF clients independently

You will be responsible for managing you own portfolio of clients, managing the end-to-end SMSF accounting process, while providing responsive and tailored services to meet their needs.

There is also an opportunity in the role to also work on non-SMSF clients (Trusts, Companies Individuals, HNWIs) as we have a diverse range of clients.

What We're Looking For

  • You must have previously worked in a SMSF accountant role or SMSF manager role with a minimum of at least 5+ years' experience.
  • A proficient understanding of SMSF compliance and tax laws
  • SMSF Specialist Advisor accreditation – highly desirable
  • Experience using Class Super software - essential
  • CA or CPA Qualified
  • RG146 qualification in superannuation (essential)
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience managing junior accountants - desirable
  • Be able to work independently
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills are a must and any expertise with Excel would be considered favourably.
  • MYOB / XERO for non SMSF clients
  • A history of consistent employment in public practice or SMSF administration.
