TROPAC is a family-owned Australian business with a national footprint in industrial electrical solutions. They serve infrastructure, utilities, and manufacturing clients who expect reliability, technical expertise, and genuine partnership.
Following the acquisition of Powerflex — now a TROPAC-owned brand — the business is scaling its presence in high-specification cable solutions. With a strong foundation and clear growth runway, they're investing in a dedicated BDM to lead market expansion and drive specification-led sales across Australia.
This is a strategic, standalone role with real autonomy, marketing support, and direct access to decision-makers. The successful candidate will be the commercial lead for Powerflex, helping shape the cable portfolio's trajectory and unlock new verticals
About the Role
This is not a commodity sales role, the BDM will act as a technical solutions partner, engaging engineers, consultants, and asset owners to get premium cable brands specified on major projects where performance, safety, and compliance are non-negotiable.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the BDM will collaborate with internal sales and product teams, own the national cable strategy, and build relationships across mining, infrastructure, and utilities.
What You'll Own
Strategic Sales & Market Development
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy for Powerflex cables
- Identify and pursue new business across industrial sectors
- Engage engineers, consultants, and procurement teams to drive specification
- Expand market share through targeted verticals and strategic partnerships
Client & Account Management
- Build long-term relationships with contractors, distributors, and end-users
- Own major accounts and support internal sales teams with tailored solutions
- Deliver against annual revenue and margin targets
Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain a robust pipeline and provide accurate forecasts
- Deliver market intelligence and competitor insights
- Ensure all solutions meet Australian and international compliance standards
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and product teams
- Represent TROPAC at industry events and client functions
- Refine go-to-market strategy and 90-day vertical plan
About You
You're commercially sharp, technically credible, and ready to make an impact. You've sold into industrial sectors before — ideally cables, electrical, or infrastructure — and you know how to win trust, drive specification, and close complex deals.
You'll bring:
- 5+ years in B2B sales or business development (industrial/electrical preferred)
- Strong network across mining, utilities, infrastructure, or manufacturing
- Proven experience winning and managing large contracts/projects
- Strategic planning skills and CRM fluency (NetSuite ideal)
- High standards, initiative, and a bias for action
- Stability and credibility
