Business Analyst 

  • Location: Eveleigh, NSW (Hybrid – office and remote)
  • Rate: $900 per day + superannuation
  • Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension)
  • Hours: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
  • Start Date: Pending pre-employment checks
  • Checks Required: 2x Reference Checks, National Police Check, Working With Children Check

About the Role

The NSW Department of Education is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to define business requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and support the delivery of digital transformation initiatives within the Planning, Performance & Delivery unit.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative online systems and ensure business needs are translated into actionable outcomes that enhance service delivery and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business and system requirements using Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and UX/UI teams to implement solutions.
  • Manage and refine product backlogs in partnership with Product Owners.
  • Conduct gap analyses and trace requirements through to delivery to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to user documentation, training materials, and change management initiatives.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 3–5 years' experience as a Business Analyst in a large, complex ICT environment.
  • Proven experience in Agile delivery, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to UI/UX design and service design principles.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Experience across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions and systems integration (desirable).
