About the Role

Longton Blackwell is seeking a motivated, bilingual solicitor with 2–3 years' post-admission experience to join our growing Dispute Resolution team. This position is based in our Sydney CBD office. The role offers exposure to a range of practice areas, with a primary focus on commercial litigation, family law, and general disputes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and enjoys working closely with clients. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of high-quality commercial disputes, representing a diverse portfolio of clients including corporates, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist on a broad range of commercial and contractual disputes, including breach of contract, shareholder disputes, professional negligence, insolvency-related litigation, and regulatory investigations
  • Draft and review pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed advice on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy
  • Liaise with counsel, experts, and clients at all stages of the litigation process
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation
  • Assist senior lawyers and partners with complex, high-value matters and business development initiatives
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, precedent development, and team training where appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Admission as a Solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction with a current practising certificate
  • Qualified solicitor with 2–3 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
  • Solid experience managing your own caseload, with exposure to court procedures and case management
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commercially minded with an interest in understanding clients' business objectives
  • Preference will be given to candidates who can read Chinese and speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese
  • To be eligible for this role, applicants must have the right to work in Australia
